No, I had no idea what kalettes were either. I saw some in the supermarket so we tried them tonight. Kalettes are a hybrid of kale and brussels sprouts. I am not encouraged by the parentage but kalettes got a bit of a press last year. They do look like small loose leafed brussels sprouts. There are suspiciously few recipes on the internet (except by the kalette people) but I decided to stirfry them with ginger.
I shan't be cooking them again but maybe other people have had better experiences.

never even heard of them before this thread. I think I'll stick to Kale and brussels sprouts.

Funnily, leela made a very similar post on the Political Stew board a week ago! She said they were ok, but not anything she'd be getting again. However, when she had the leftovers reheated she said they'd grown on her.

How many people love brussels sprouts? I'd much rather have Brussels' waffles. Or Brussels' chocolate.

Yes, I saw that when I googled kalettes. "The best flavors of kale and brussels sprouts..." I will eat these vegetables but not really for their flavours.
