We went to Tunis and 6 weeks after we were in the Bardo museum terrorists attacked. We went to Thailand and 6 months later the king died and the country went into severe mourning.
Advance warning. We are going to Italy at the end of January. Never mind the volcanoes. There is a referendum coming up and if Renzi loses it then maybe Italy leaves the euro and general chaos follows.
Or look at France. We plan to go at the beginning of June. The presidential election will have either brought in Marine Le Pen (who also wants to leave the euro and follow policies that make Trump look mild); or Fillon who wants to scrap the 35 hour week and sack 500,000 public servants. Strikes, marches road blockades are inevitable.
Just be warned: where we go, chaos follows.

You left out Turkey, but all the same, I have another theory: The entire world is fubared, including the parts of it you visit.
Proof: So far as I know, you weren't in the US earlier this month.
That said, if Girona goes to hell, now I know who to blame.

Update. We went to Thailand earlier this year and spent a few days in Bang Saphan on he Gulf coast. The day before we arrived our guesthouse owner had a heart attack (that is a bit early for us to be blamed). But yesterday I saw photos of the devastating floods that have overwhelmed Bang Saphan. Sorry.
