Looking at flying in to New Delhi then Agra to see the Taj Mahal - you sooooo know you want to!
Then going to Jaipur and then Lucknow and varanasi and Kolkata..eventually Goa for some Hot R & R action..
Looks relatively simple - like a flight from Varanasi to Kolkata and the rest are Sleeper Trains?
Any recommendations on the way?
Thanks in advance.....and OnlyMark? I am NOT going to hire a Fucking Car and Drive..

You'd need to pass your test first.
Go to Jaipur first, then Agra then you'll be facing in the right direction to get to Lucknow otherwise you'll be back tracking across Agra if not Delhi again. Then Varanasi (known as Very Nasty) and on to Kolkata. Do that all with trains - then fly across the country to Goa. IndiGo, Jet Airways and Spicejet all fly that route. Train then if you want to get back to Delhi, but I flew cheaply between Delhi and further south, Kochi, for about 80 euros one way. Depends on how much time you have.

I'll have you know that I am an Advanced Driver in England - probably a shite one in India though!
Nice one and thanks for that, Mark...
Land in New Delhi on 14th January and fly out of Mumbai on 3rd February..
Rest and get bearings for the 1st night and thought we'd do The Taj the next day but go from there to Jaipur and stay there for a day?
It does make sense to go to Jaipur after New Delhi and then back to Agra though and then go down the line to Kolkata.
Very Nasty is fine with me as i want to see and experience Burning Bodies and, hopefully watch Apocalypse now while it's happening - together with some Wagner blaring out in the background...
Very Nasty to Kolkata is 600 km+....Fly or Train?
22nd January is the only set Date for India V England in a One Day Cricket match.
Any recommendations on beaches in Goa? I know it's all Hippy Shite down there but I can read a book or 3 and just laugh at them.

My experience there was a long time ago. Stuff changed. But.. Loved the far north..Ladahk and the capital city, Leh. A bit difficult to get there this time of the year I suspect due to political reasons, and roads not recommended during the winter. I also loved the far south. It used to be very laid back and easy going, in an Indian sort of way.
