UKIP has one member of parliament called Carswell. He has just tweeted that it is the sun that causes tides not the moon. The moon only has an effect at spring/neap tides. He hasn't yet explained what happens to the moon's gravitational pull the rest of the time. Also he said that there are 2 tides every 24 hours. He hasn't explained why times of the tides change by an hour every day.
UKIP is the party that spawned the referendum to quit the EU.

Iceland is thinking of suing Iceland. The country has decided it doesn't like the supermarket chain using that name. Their brains seem to work slowly in Iceland (the country) as the supermarket has been trading under that name for 46 years. There is even a branch of Iceland (the supermarket) in Iceland (the country).

saw my brother change the bandage on his leg (well i arrived when he was almsot done, so i didn't see the actual wound) - was the first time i saw him since the amputation (at first he was not feeling well enough for many visitors), and it looks strange to see a part of his body missing, though i suppose i will get used to it very soon ...

Arnold Palmer (bless him) was asked by Johnny Carson if he had any pre-match rituals to bring him luck. "Yes," he replied, "my wife kisses my balls."

That is truly odd slowcoach! second harvest? the tree will be exhausted in winter. seems rather late for cherries... has spain dropped to the southern hemisphere without telling? It gets odder, now both cherry trees are coming into leaf as well as some additional blossom on the first. I fear that they are using up next years buds, if that is possible. I cannot see that it will end well.
Now we have swallows in the village, perhaps the world has stood still and we have migrated.

Forget Trump and Clinton. Focus for a moment on Michael Jordan who apparently has 7% backing among American voters. I googled his name and found a tweet where he says: My platform? Nothing. Apparently he will wing it as each problem crops up. Earlier he was asked what he would do about the humanitarian crisis in Aleppo. He pondered a bit and responded: What is a leppo? And just recently he was asked to name a foreign leader he admired. He pondered and pondered until he was prompted: Canada? Europe? Africa? Anywhere? He could not name a single foreign leader.

Oh, another recent Chinese zinger. The Fast radio telescope opened to visitors this week in the southwest of the country. Entrance tickets bore the English line: Scenic area to implement a one person one vote system. Any ideas what this might mean?

Not so much odd as bloody dangerous! The road is two lanes each way. Driving along in the right lane, heard this thunderous roar, my car shook - a motor cyclist sped so fast on my right it near took my breathe away. Had I moved even slightly to the right, it would have been all over red rover and goodnight Irene! Bloody idiot.

Not seen but heard:
So here I was, surfing the internet quickly before I had to get on my way and my phone rings... "this is BT we have noticed issues with your internet connection. could you please go to your computer and switch it on, Madam" says the lady (this is the short version).
I told her this was a scam and switched the phone off.
