So who do you think Fecked up Thorn Tree, you regulars that used to frequent the site?
I have heard various reasons why the BBC took a heavy handed approach to it - a bit like Jeremy Clarkson.
The best was that there was a Paedophile Ring using the site to their advantage and they monitored various PMs as a result.
The worst I have heard is that I was the sole reason why TT World of Sport was closed down!
What did you lot hear the reasons for its demise?

So who do you think Fecked up Thorn Tree, you regulars that used to frequent the site? I suspect it was a huge money sucking venture with no revenue
I have heard various reasons why the BBC took a heavy handed approach to it - a bit like Jeremy Clarkson. As per above
The best was that there was a Paedophile Ring using the site to their advantage and they monitored various PMs as a result. Heard that as well can't recall the evidence
The worst I have heard is that I was the sole reason why TT World of Sport was closed down! That was/is factual apparently it seems you are not loved on the stew as well, but at the end of the day it is only sport and at least with a foe button your posts are not seen. Let the buyer beware. The mods at the time of LP would have been looking at reasons to get rid of the non core parts of the product. Realistically does sport have a place on LP?
What did you lot hear the reasons for its demise? I am sure it was all revenue based and related to a core business.

He is a different person no doubt, but honest: Sport and LP, the connection would be I guess going to the Olympics or World Cup and looking at flights accommodation etc. Of course all it ended up being was a slag off match between various posters about crims, saffers, poms etc. Flick in some racist stuff about black players and Russian coaches living in England and low and behold it becomes non core to the BBC. By default (vicarious liability) they own your comments. I am surprised the BBC didn't end up with a law suit regarding some of the attacks on sporting people.
Anyhoo that's my take on it, but as per normal it is only an opinion and not fact.

You're just plain weird!
"He is a different person no doubt" Now just who is that a reference to??
the LP Sports Branch was the funniest I have ever posted on for sure - The Stew Sports has too many daft Yanks and too many Irish on there with their Chips on their Shoulders - the same shoulder of the arm they are holding a Pig under. Typical Paddies...
Oh! And you missed out Curry-Munchers, Tea-Sippers, Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys, Clog Wearers/Edam Cheese Munchers,Horse Thieves etc. So banal but funny in my book and not in the slightest 'Racist' unless you OD'd on some PC Pills. I couldn't give a shite about being called a Pom or a Limey!
Strange that the Pom Posters were always calling out Racism in TT Sport - mainly as regards the Crims who like to think that they are superior over the Blicks.
I don't think that you do post over on Stew Sports - in which case how do you know so much about it? How do you know about the 'Foe' button?
Keep up the good replies, 'Wino'....

Mcnutters is a different person no doubt...most of the sport stuff is childish and a bit like who can piss up the side of the fence the highest. I don't post on any sports posting except maybe when aussie rules start but I am not that passionate about any of it. Even the world cup cricket was a foregone conclusion, I would have much rather watched an Indian NZ final. I look at the stew from time to time and I think Mcnutters mentioned the foe button on his posting here, I may have been wrong on that as well.
Cricket does my head in in terms of places like India where you don't play at higher levels unless you are 'connected' I have watched back street bowlers and batsman who have skills beyond belief. They will never have the ability to get to the higher level though.

Well, you certainly must have used the Search Button for about an hour+ to find out the Post about me being the 'Most Foed'. And even then you took it as Gospel.
What a strange person you are.
Please explain your assertion that only the Indian players with connections make their 20/20, ODI or Test Team and just how you know that?
Why are you so different now than the Wino of a couple of months ago? Have you let certain people Post on your loggin as that's what it looks like, to be honest.

None of the current Indian team come from a challenged back ground (google search) I am no different just mildly more tolerant of special people (you). The only person who has my login details is the three legged dog, no way in the world is she a speed typer.
That foe button bit was a posting on here from McNutters, or I might have made that up? but it does seem reasonable.
I see our multi cultural cricket team is including a spin bowler from Pakistan for WI/Unwashed tour. I wonder if he is the first sub continent player we have permitted to do that. Answering my own question the answer is lots. Most of the British ones were from a 1877 tour.
ENGLAND (10): Charles Bannerman, John Hodges, Tom Kendall, William Midwinter, Percy McDonnell, William Cooper, Henry Musgrove, Hanson Carter, Tony Dell and Andrew Symonds. SCOTLAND (1): Archie Jackson. IRELAND (2): Tom Horan, Tom Kelly. SOUTH AFRICA (1): Kepler Wessels. NEW ZEALAND (3): Tom Groube, Clarrie Grimmett and Brendon Julian. INDIA (2): Bransby Cooper and Rex Sellers. SRI LANKA (1): Dav Whatmore.
Andrew Symonds was a surprise, I thought with his piss drinking attitude he was born and bred.

Speaking of cricket - Australia won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Actually, Australia has won its fifth Cricket World Cup. Isn't that nice?

Netsuke? Fair Dinkum that the Crims won the Bore Fest - there were only 4 close games - but the Crims showed themselves as the very bad winners that they always are. Read the following Link to a respected Aussie Sport's journo' and tell me where he's wrong, eh? You lot really should pipe down sometimes... Aussies are bad winners. It's a breathe of fresh air with you, Wino, and I am glad you have come to your senses so we can have a decent discussion these days. I don't think that many Cricketers playing at the highest level for any Test Country have come from a 'Challenged background' equivalent to the slums of Mumbai/Cape Flats in SA etc so I don't really see your point? You saying that Cricket is just played by the Middle/Upper Class? I possibly am the most 'Foed' person on Stew but that's their loss not being able to read my Pearls of Wisdom and is certainly no loss to me. You say 'Our'? I still don't know where you are from and if you are an Aussie, then I didn't know you were touring the Windies soon? Symonds was born in Brum. Every Cricket playing Nation has some 'dodgy' players and it's like it all over Sports, especially Rugby. In Cricket, the Saffers have Imran Tahir which is hardly an Afrikaan's name and the Aussies have drafted in a bloke called Fawad Ahmed who was also born in Pakistan.

Pearls of neck juice more likely....Fawad was given citizenship on a pretty flimsy excuse as in compared to others from the same area that get rejected/detained. I suspect a cricket loving politician may have assisted in that one.
Not only are we bad winners but it is encouraged which makes it worse, rewarding wankers does not improve it. The best people I played sport against or coached would shut up and just do the job.

So you are Australian then - Thank you for the confirmation and also being honest with your appraisal concerning the manner in which you won. (Pearls of neck juice was almost funny!)
Australia were favourites to win the World Cup before it started and played the best Cricket and deserved to win but Faulkner, Haddin, Starc etc were so over the top it was embarassing - especially after the Kiwi's were being True Sportsmen in the Semi Final - Elliot consoling Steyn who he'd just knocked over the fence - and McCullum congratulating Clarke in the Final when he was out when the game was over.
I so hope that the Aussies take a step back and realise just what 'Sport' is all about.
Mind you, with Darren Lehmann the Coach of the Test and ODI sides I can't see their attitude changing soon.
He's the most Borish, arrogant and just ill mannered Aussie I have ever seen.

He is one of the better ones, at least he didn't have the players doing home work like Mickey Arthur.
Being humble needs to be an inclusion for sure.

I seem to remember that Mickey Arthur's 'Homework' involved the players writing down various Strengths and Weaknesses of their Team and also the Brits which to me is fair management - if the Ba55y Greens thought it was above them then that's just them..
Lehmann's Management techniques probably involve a punch bag, 12 cans of XXXX and some porn mags. He's just an Animal. And he called the Sri Lankans 'Black Kunts' which was ill advised at the least and totally Racist at the most...
