To bolt on that capability, you need to identify a thought leader in that space and ... reach out to them.

To bolt on that capability, you need to identify a thought leader in that space and ... reach out to them. Brilliant. Social entrepreneurship must also be included in this fruitful dialogue. Especially as we are forward thinking change agents co-creating our future. (Yes, I've lived in the Bay Area too long...)

I had a boss who really did use phrases like: Let's run it up the flagpole and see who salutes. And if nobody saluted he'd say: That's the way the cookie crumbles.

I wonder if some of the people employed to write on sites such as the beeb's website (which was considered one of the best of its kind several years ago) use a malfunctioning online thesaurus (I couldn't remember the plural of thesaurus so made that part of the sentence singular).

This afternoon I have been curating the allotment. I spread horse manure and began digging but gave up to have a cup of tea so it's a bit of a curate's egg at the moment.

Sir Alan Duncan used to be Minister for Foreign Development and sent his civil servants a long memo instructing them to write in understandable English. He particularly abhorred the phrase "going forward". Go forward (ahem) a few years and now the man is at the Foreign Office. Here is an extract of a letter he sent to a House of Lords committee: "Going forward, the EU will link support to clearer and more concrete reform benchmarks based on calibrated conditionality."
It would be a kindness to everybody if Duncan was taken out of the Foreign Office and chained to the nearest lamp post and made to explain himself.

His secretary has a lot to answer for, I gather. Is the guy going senile? also, you said he used to be minister for foreign development and now he's "at the foreign office". Isn't that a big step backwards?

Duncan is not Foreign Secretary but one step lower: Minister of State. The Foreign Office is one of the top three departments along with the Treasury and the Home Office. So, no, it isn't a step backwards.

My brain must work differently to others, see when I saw "Curated" I immediately thought of a young man who has become a priest - the curate. He's been curated. Then again, perhaps I think along different lines of the astral spectrum in the outer planetary world.
My second thought was of ham as in a leg of ham has been curated. I do realise after writing this the word no doubt would be cured. Cured ham. Curated ham. Well why not - maybe the curated ham went to church with the curate!
