Probably a bit late for me to be a world class footballer, but you never know - I may live another 320 years.

Supply and Demand, Mark, innit?
Bottom line is that you have no one else to blame but Capitalism.

I remember Trevor Francis being the first transfer for a million to Forest under Cloughie but what his wages were I've no idea. When he went to Man City he was on 100,000 a year but before that, don't know. Things seem to have gone out of control since then.
Just a question, have you heard of Steve Ogrizovic?

Without Googling - He's massive and played in Goal for Coventry City at his height (!?)...Maybe even played in an FA Cup Final for some team...
Great Goalie maybe 20 years ago...
Are you going to tell me now that he's agreed to share a Taxi in India so you don't have to fecking drive all over the place there?

Nope. He's too tall to fit in a tuk tuk as well I should think. It's my only claim to fame that when I played football for the school he was our goalie. He was a mean cricketer as well. He only got his contract renewed with Coventry one year if he agreed to stop smoking. That's all. Carry on.

That's not bad! I like it and 'Oggie' would like that as well!
OK! Guess the player who went on to be an England Scrum Half that played for the same team as me on the one occasion I played Prop?
(Rugby Union in case that had slipped you by..)

Light weights, I was paid five dollars for one game, best on ground. It was my peak year (game) of football.

By 'later' I meant more recent, mark!
I've only just heard of Nigel Melville and Corky Harding sounds like a cartoon cat or an old stage show that would support Flanagan and Allen!
The Scrum Half I played with was, in my eyes, the best Scrum Half ever to play for England as he almost doubled up as a Flanker as he didn't care about the Hit he was about to get; it was more about the yards he would make.
He used to run a bit more than the pussy Scrum Halves these days who treat the oval ball like a hot, top crimped, pasty and get rid of it as soon as possible - maybe Danny Care excepted..

Melville and Harding were more recent, 1984/1985ish, no? I thought Hill was just before them. After about then I didn't pay as much attention to rugby so you might have to help me out with it. I played as a (tighthead) prop throughout school and college, not necessarily through skill, more that nobody else wanted to play there and at least I could get a game. After then I tried American football for a laugh but couldn't get into it. It was a bit after then that I drifted away from rugby all together.

Harding lasted until 1988 and Melville was between 1984 and 1988...
Hill was 1984 - 1991!.....Wiki!
My lad was the first of the New Breed...
I mentioned above that I played Prop on the same team as him but I really don't remember whether it was Tight or Loose head - I know it f ucking hurt after the 1st scrum!
