We are shortly going to Tunisia. I wonder if Geeky could share some couscous recipes so we know what to look forward to.

The best recipe and I think Geeky would agree, is - 1) Make couscous 2) Feed to someone else.

C*** C*** is the Devil's Sperm as you should know by now..
Lovely break in the sun during the recent cold snap we've had in Blighty, Baz!
Enjoy but don't expect any culinary delights in Tunisia..
Oh, and I hope you like Chick Peas!

My experience of Tunisian food is that the fish is excellent and you have to like chilli sauce. We have booked a table at the top restaurant in Tunis for our first night. It can only go down from there.

No.. but my second wife was and I lived there for nearly 5 years.
I left her and the Country as the food was so boring..
"We have booked a table at the top restaurant in Tunis" Says who?
I know you like your Tripadvisor and treat it like the next Bible so it must be true..
"My experience of Tunisian food is that that the fish is excellent"
Excuse me... but how can you possibly fu ck up cooking a fresh fish? Fish should be the easiest dish on the menu for any half brained Chef...

Half of that food looks like a Toby Carvery to me, Baz!
A Sea Bass drapped in caspicum peppers? I did my own rack of lamb cutlets last week and it was to die for! Feck! There really is the yolk of an egg with fresh fish in one picture!!
Since when did the yolk of an egg go with a nicely cooked fresh fish?? Lime with Lamb?? Excuse me!
Nice website, mind...
Joking apart, Baz, I hope you really do have a great time...I so know you will!
Quixote? It's called Flushed for a reason - I jump on anyone(!) but Baz and I have 'istory so he expects it!
Kelibia on the coast for 2 years and then moved down to Sousse for the last 3, Baz...I would agree that the Fish was good in those two Coastal places.

We shall be in Mahdia, down the coast from Sousse. It has a "zone touristique" where the big hotels are segregated but we're renting the first floor of a house just outside the old town. Our terrace overlooks the garden with lemon trees and about 50 metres away is the sea.

Good to know it was in jest. I should have known better than to jump on you. Your reputation precedes you, my fault. Pardon please.

No Pardon needed as no hassle me dear!
There was no way you would go to the "zone touristique" Baz but at least you were alerted to where that area was so you could avoid it!
Mahdia was a nice place for a trip out from Sousse and you will enjoy your time there exploring the area and nice local restaurants - Enjoy!

Dont underestimate cooking fish, even if it is fresh and delicious even un-cooked.

Quirky!
As regards REALLY fresh fish like you catch it yourself and it's in the pan within 2 hours then I really don't think you can beat the much maligned Mackerel.
It's cheap as over here but when it is so fresh it is one of the best fish to eat.
