Tzarine? I don't know why (other than mental fog) I thought you lived overseas. You're in the SL area? I know it fairly well because I grew up in So Ill and spent a lotta time in SL. One of the 'not so great places to be a minority'.
I think I've told this story here but minorities weren't ALLOWED in my county back in the 1940s & 50s. Big billboards on the entrances to town proclaiming, "Ni88er, don't let the sun set on your head. Keep on moving." There was the KKK who targeted Italians because they were the minority at hand. Pretty much how a lot of people still think about people of color. Sad. Pathetic. Inconceivable.

my roommates used to not let my black friends into our san Francisco flat. these guys were both law students at the time. not gangsta wannabees. they were African & west indian.
when they became lawyers they were always stopped for driving nice cars, which they bought.

The same happened in England in most major cities a couple of Summer's back.
I feel sorry for the Mother of Michael Brown but Shite happens and interviews with the Copper who shot him sounds like the Copper was just doing his job.
'Michael Brown'? Could have been Black or White, as Michael Jackson once sang. It makes no difference about his Colo(u)r. He got shot..

The four teenagers were paid £30 or given drugs, alcohol and gifts to perform sex acts on older men from the Somali community."

Police violence is only exacerbating the problem. No matter much you want it not to be a race problem; it is. There are countless statistics about arrests in the U.S. that show how African-Americans and Latinos are arrested more frequently.
