That sounds nasty, Slow. Dogs that bite should be put down. Maybe their owners too.

Oof, I'm sorry to hear that, slow. hope she's up to date on her shots and that it heals well!
I'm just going to briefly whine about working. I don't mind the work I've been doing and it's not that awful. But, since retiring I've been able to prioritize family, activeness, friends, and books and I really LIKE prioritizing them. I don't want to have to prioritize work.
The rational side of me points out that it's only for a week or 10 days and I should suck it up...

Hope your wife is better and bad cess to the dog owner. Hope the dog bites very hard, the hand that feeds it.

Firstly: Thanks for the good wishes.
Two more visits to the Health Centre. First was a scheduled follow up, the second an out of hours visit to "Urgencias" followed by a trip to the chemists for antibiotics and antiseptics. The wound was infected and the area of microbial operations was spreading up her leg.
She can just about walk with the aid of a stick.
During the morning visit she was interviewed by the Health Centre's resident Vet (Don't Ask). We had previously been asked to confirm the owner's address. (Calle General Mola. A truly nasty man: Think "Guernica"). The Health people are quite keen to recoup their costs for the treatment.
The laws regarding "Companion Animals", (Mascotas, Pets) has recently changed and are now much more rigorous in their protection they afford Pets. Owners will have to look after and properly care for pets from now on.
There already were laws regarding unsupervised dogs; but do they really apply to remote sparsely populated areas?
Are our dogs pets or working dogs? This really is a significant issue.
The law was trimmed so as not to upset hunters, who get a free pass to mistreat their dogs. The new law doesn't, really can't apply to farm dogs. When, if ever, does a four legged shepherd (which must be off lead as it guides a flock along village streets) transform into a pet (which must be on a lead in the same streets)?

There was a stray hunting dog out in the campo around our house. We saw it quite often and it would often sleep under a tree just nearby. One day I drove onto the road and saw it had been run over. Didn't think much about it other than move the body into the scrub at the side. A few days later two policemen came and were asking about it wanting to know if it was mine. I suspect whoever hit it had damage to their car they were wanting to claim off the owner for. They wanted to know if we fed it, watered it, housed it etc. They started off the conversation with something like, "Your dog has been hit." My reply was, "I don't have a dog. But I have often seen stray dogs around here." Eventually they went off satisfied.

We do feed and water, but also report them to the guards, we consider these the correct and safest options.
Here we are policed by the Guardia (as I assume is the same for you) but we do get police poking about occasionally.

A moan thread good! I can moan and not have to risk being told, “Stop moaning!”
I have a headache which is hanging around like a bad smell, the back of my neck is sore, my eyes are tired and jumping, my ankles are swollen as are my feet and lower legs and I am thinking if there is such a thing as reincarnation (being a Catholic we are taught otherwise); I hope in my next life I am born rich. With no mental health problems.

Healing vibes to those with issues. Typed vines...so maybe a bit of the fruit of the vines may also be beneficial.

Yesterday Nmorning, back to the Health Centre and chemists. Wife is finishing her course of antibiotics and her poorly paw is still infected.
Back to the chemists again as they didn't have her newly prescribed antibiotic in stock in the morning

My wretched foot hurts. My back hurts. I'm tired all the time. Life is a misery. My back has been hurting for over a fortnight. It is getting worse so much so that I can find no position that is painfree so I get very little sleep. Mrs Faz rang the surgery and I have an appointment in 15 minutes. See you later.

My moan is that I am missing the academic transcript for 2 of my degrees. One I can do without, for now, but the other I do need very soon for a specific purpose (finally found a way to apply for teacher registration which will make things so much easier for me in the future).
I have found a 'certified true copy' of the transcript that I must have, but it was certified in 2002. I think, legally, that should still be OK so I will try o submit it and hope for the best. I am hoping it is an actual certified copy though and not a photocopy of a certified copy. I don't want to accidentally get myself in trouble.
I know I can contact my university and buy a copy of my transcripts but living abroad, things like that are difficult as I need it to be delivered to someone else in my home cou try and then ask them to go photocopy it and get someone to certify it, before posting it off to lodge with my teacher registration application.

The medic decided it was a muscular pain. I have recently had urine and blood tests and they showed nothing to worry about. She suggested alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen. Muscular pains should go away. So grin and bear it.

^ how about massage ?? if nothing else it's good for your whole sense of well being, and it usually helps the muscles too.

Essential oils as well. Some have a truly calming effect when smelt or applied to pulse points. Anything with a good quality lavendar is a good start if you can't get to a store to smell concoctions for yourself.

^ how about massage ?? if nothing else it's good for your whole sense of well being, and it usually helps the muscles too. Just down Horse Street from our house there is Vix who does a number of bodily fixes including massage. I had a session with her once and it was horrifically painful. She told me she had a fireman once who was reduced to tears. I do know an excellent masseuse who only charges £6 a session but she lives on the island of Ko Jum in Thailand so you have to add on the airfare to go to her.
