Our city is coated in ice right now. I haven't set foot out the door. But I wanted to get my 10,000 steps in... so I did a lot of jumping jacks (like, about 400) and jogged on the spot in the basement.

I did 1 1/2 km in the pool and a short walk later. My physio has me walking half of what I used to do and only every second day.

I wheeled the bin down to the street as it is bin day Wednesdays. The chap in the unit on my other side brings my bin and the other lady’s bin in for us. Which is noice.

i cycled to work today, for the first time in ages - since i have been so busy lately, but also since i got the 49-euro-ticket and thus don't have extra cost from taking the train, it has been more tempting to take the train to work ... cycling was exhausting today ... like they added extra uphill portions to the journey ...

There's still a lot of ice here, but it's possible to run again. I ran 3 times this week for a total of 23 km.

Shovelling! It started snowing Saturday morning and is still going late Sunday night.
I shovelled Saturday afternoon when it was just a few cm of fluffy snow.
This morning, Sunday, we shovelled a narrow path down our driveway to the street, and up to the front steps. And we shovelled out behind the garage so that we could get a car in and out if needed. I tried to make a bit of a path on the sidewalk in front of the house but it was just too much snow - nearly up to my knees. No where to put it! All the piles are as high as my shoulders - makes the shovelling very strenuous!
Mr_S went out and did the essentials again this afternoon while I was working - he said it was a lot mroe snow again. Luckily, some kind neighbours with snow blowers did the front and side sidewalks (we're on a corner so have a LOT of sidewalk). That saved us hours of labour!

cycling to and from work - i did so little of that, lately ... the weather was nice and the cycling lanes weren't that crowded (and today, not even a single pedestrian walking on the cycling lane, either) ...

Mind exercises. It’s where you sit and think about exercising without actually doing the exercise. Good way to pass the time. Very gentle and relaxing.

I have two friends with places in Truckee... thank god they aren't there now !
talked to them both in a zoom last night - one had no 1st hand knowledge - but the other said her niece ( staying in her house there ) had opened a door - and there was solid snow taller than the door - just a blank wall of white... and that trying to plow the road... there was no way to get the snow up the already tall banks on the sides, so they had made a mountain in the middle of a crossroad - 20ft high and growing.

It wasn't that much snow here!
Today I managed to go for a run. With this much snow, most sidewalks have been cleared by snowblower.

I will be swimming again.. the one exercise I can do these days easily. It feels good and I am getting faster. Swimming one kilometre takes me about 1/2 hour. Add another 20 minutes for water walking and that’s my main workout 5 times or so every week. I am looking forward to post surgery being able to hike again.

All the melting from yesterday re-froze over night, so the streets, sidewalks, and paths are mostly coated in crunchy frozen slush, or ice. I found that the trail along our riverbank was about the best of a lot of bad options, and managed to go for a run. But there was a lot of walking when I got to the bad bits. In fact, the only real running was when I got to a bridge with a covered walkway - I ran across the river and back, which is nearly 1 km altogether. But the other 6 km were a BIT faster than walking!

Didn’t go swimming but got a big workout cleaning (washing etc) the patio… possibly burned more calories than a swim would have used!
