rammstein? kinda ironic that you post a link to a german band, and i can't see it because it is "not available in my country"...

Most of Canada's best acts seem to be coming out of Montreal these days but I've been listening to this Toronto based band from a LOT lately...

I'm a big fan of the first 2 albums by The Arcade Fire but I've only had limited access to the third. The Crown Of Love is my current fave sing-along-in the-car-badly track.

In honour of someone who came in to my mind here earlier on today I have been blasting 'can I play with madness' by Iron Maiden on my way to clb's house. What a fantastic old rock classic!

Here is a montage for that "special" person I was talking about a post or two above here. Remember: Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you.

Here's some ska, from Jamaica to the UK to Japan.

Nins, I've always enjoyed ska yet the genre itself I never thought to be well known apart from several 'commercial' type songs as with Madness. In the UK '2tone ska' was popular for a while but it didn't really transfer to the USA or much beyond our small island. How come you know about it?

Indeed, I also don't think it's well known. As a teenager I knew only Madness. One of my best friend is a ska lover, he's a big fan of the Specials and the Selecter. He's the one who once gave ma a cd that was a whole compilation of old jamaican ska. I was surprised how many songs on there I knew cause they were all covered during the 80s. So that's how I found out about the generation of Desmond Dekker & Prince Buster. It's that old Jamaican Ska that I like most!

I saw Desmond Dekker at my college when he played there one Christmas. The older Jamaican ska to me is not as good as the Selector/Specials era, but it's fine enough. I need to trawl through you tube now and get my fix.

The Specials were back on tour this summer, not sure if that is a good thing. My mate saw them at a festival and apparently he enjoyed it.
