voy I've only seen it with a tomato sauce on the base.
Does sound gross when I think about it that way but somehow it works in the end.
Come to think of it tomato is a fruit so it's two fruits together.. see not so strange ;P

I don't like pineapple on pizza, although I'll eat it if everyone else wants it that way. In the USA it's called Hawaiian style and the other topping is usually ham. Ham and pineapple isn't so weird, but it's not my favorite. Give me a New York style pepperoni pizza made with a yeast hand-tossed base and cooked in a pizza oven - the kind you have to fold to eat while the grease drips down your wrist. Heavenly!
Note to self - get a pizza stone.
