I just came across this thread and feel that Singapore has plenty to add. The first that comes to mind is the generous people that give away things they no longer need. It could be anything from a pet to used plastic garden pots. They are giving it away but if you want it, you must give them what they specific in return. Sometimes it is a can of a specific soda or other grocery item, or other times a pet owner is 'willing to let go' of their pet for a specified 'adoption fee'. No idea what giving away actually means and expect that the receiver appreciates their generosity.

Another one that stood out to me was a lady that wanted peoples glass bottles (those that previously contained food). She wanted them for some kind of art project or whatever she was working on. You had to drop them off at her house PLUS carefully remove the label and sticky residue on the outside of the glass. Apparently it was taking her too many hours to remove the labels her donators had left on. So instead of rinsing and putting glass bottles into the recycling bin, donates were expected to spend their time removing labels and delivering the bottles. And she thought she was doing donators the favour by repurposing their glass containers.

Phone Booth Starting at $4,395 caused me to remember "La Cabina" a macabre Spanish television film:
Be careful what you wish for: I recall a day when I found that noise can be blissful.
I was visiting a loudspeaker manufacturer and was invited to enter their anechoic test chamber. With an apparent absence of any exterior noise and no ambient (reverberant) field. I could hear myself thinking and it is not pleasant! All I could hear was my breathing and the coursing of blood through my vessels. If I spoke, most of the little that I heard passed directly from my throat to my ears.

Slowcoach, the experience you described of the no-sound room is how I feel when wearing earplugs. I am a light sleeper and am exhausted sometimes due to being woken so many times throughout the night and my husband keeps insisting my solution is earplugs. But I have tried in the past and I hear myself breathing and even swallowing my own saliva. The sounds are loud and uncomfortable.

You could research what sound masking remedies are available for tinnitus sufferers to see if there is an overlap.

slow is right. what you describe is tinnitus by obstruction, lumi. I would guess your ear canals are relatively small and the earplugs you use are for standard or large ear canals.

Thanks slow and Annie, I had no clue that was a thing. I assumes it was normal but just didn't bother other people. Annie, I have previously (many years ago) used a mouldable gum type substance ear plug so size shouldn't have been an issue with that.

I previously had something similar to this. I wonder how it would affect what Annie said about innitus by obstruction given that they would block the entire ear canal. I imagine the wax isn't breathable.

More from Robert & Karen Bolanac or I don't know what the "+" symbol indicates but at $100/hr it seems no more expensive than more mainstream twaddle.
ETA: Arnall Bloxham, someone who I considered was a key player in the field of past life regression, doesn't seem to get a mention in Wikipedia (English Version) but does in Wikipedia ( Finnish Version). The "Bloxham Tapes" were the subject of a TV documentary and a book "More Lives than One" in the 1970s(?) of which I rather suspect I still have a copy of the latter. At the very least, the power of the liminal mind towards storytelling is remarkable.

The Pink Scare
Not much bovvered about gullible idiots.
But I have seen, first hand, those that are desperate for a cure for the currently incurable, go down this path and no amount of blatant industrial strength WOO will deter the clutching at straws.
