I watched the first episode of "Broadchurch" and am sure I'll like it. Olivia Colman seems to be the UK's Nicole Kidman, appearing in dozens of series and movies at once. nicole kidman is a plastic surgery mess face olivia coleman inhabits her roles broadchurch is really good as is midnight diner

I wouldn't compare the two in terms of talent. I mean, Nicole Kidman is in everything; Olivia Colman is in everything. I don't know where they find the time.

or are they the only 2 actresses in the world?

I think there's also Scarlett Johansson, unless it's actually Nicole or Olivia PLAYING an actress named Scarlett Johansson. And I don't disparage Nicole Kidman as an actress. She is a decent talent, marvelous in such films as "To Die For" and "The Others", although she has also appeared in plenty of dreck. She was good in "Big Little Lies", too, although to me the standout in that series was Laura Dern. I have not seen tons of Olivia Colman vehicles, but I have yet to see her in dreck.

have you watched any of Love in a Cold Climate?? Ages ago I watched a documentary that I think had that title, about the Magdalene asylums or whatever they were called in Ireland. Then a couple years ago I found this title on some streaming service and the description was something completely different and I did not watch it. So I'm not sure if I've seen the film or series you're talking about.

Watch "The Queen's Gambit", a limited series about a young orphan girl in 50s/60s USA who proves to be a genius at chess. It's great!

I highly recommend “Prison Playbook” - A Korean baseball player is about to sign with a major league team in the US. However, his plans change after he chases a man who harasses his sister and finds himself spending a year in prison. A 16 episode KDrama series about a group of criminals in a cell and how they impact each other and become close and have each others’ backs. Aa usual with KDramas, has English sub titles. The humour is right on, some prisoners are innocent having been framed, the hardship of trying to get an appeal, abusive prisoners who lord it over others, I will watch it again.

I'm almost done with "The Queen's Gambit" and have watched two episodes of "Midnight Mass". I was wary of it because it's from the creator of "The Haunting of Hill House" (the tedious limited series, not the fantastic movie), which I loathed. However, it's proving to be intriguing. It takes place on a small island with one dying fishing village, some creepy things happen, the decrepit monsignor who ran the church is mysteriously replaced by a dynamic young stranger who appears out of nowhere, and meanwhile interpersonal histories and conflicts emerge. I think I will like it.

"Last Night in Soho"? I thought it was a movie rather than a series. I only realized very recently that she played the adolescent daughter in "The Witch". I was underwhelmed when I saw it a few years ago but I think it merits a 2nd watch as it keeps appearing on most "best horror films" lists I find.

... Operation Mincemeat based on a true story.. liked it. ... I have not seen it but I know the story from thr earlier film "The Man Who Never Was" (1956) which provided a perhaps surprising role for Gloria Grahame.

I liked "Black Butterflies" (limited series), though at times it was contorted and unbelievable. Overall it was good.
Watch "Murderville" for 30 - 40 minutes of light fun. It's a film noir series featuring an unsuspecting guest star in each episode who must figure out who the killer is - and that guest star has no script, so must improvise. Stars include Annie Murphy (from "Schitt's Creek"), Marshawn Lynch, Sharon Stone, etc.
Series I'm watching include "Dark", "(un)Well" (a docuseries about fads in the wellness industry), "You", "Oats Studios" (shorts on a wild variety of topics), and I'm wrapping up "Breaking Bad". Last night I watched "What Happened, Miss Simone?" about the life & career of singer/pianist/songwriter/activist Nina Simone. It's really good. I also watched the "Wham!" documentary, which I found less gripping (but still interesting) ... I was never a huge fan, though I thought George Michael was great on his own.

Don't start me about fads in the wellness industry.
As for Wham! ... Wham was a vehicle for George Michael's music. Saw an old interview of his from after the split where he clearly states that it was some kind of image thing and that he got bored of it. And Andrew Ridgeley still ride his coattails in 2023...
There it is:

I’m watching a Spanish series called “Pacto de Silenco” - Pact of Silence. Thirsty for revenge, a big-time social media influencer infiltrates the lives of four women to discover which of them is the mother who abandoned her at birth and uncover why she was left alone. Eighteen episodes an hour long, I’m watching episode 6. Not bad actually, good pace, just enough mystery to hold the viewer, there’s a lot of sex in it, I’m not used to to all the lusty goings on, bare skin and thrashing around! Surprisingly, I don’t find those scenes a turn on at all, just sweaty bodies and perspiring faces.
I have become used to Korean dramas where hardly any skin is shown, it is all very chaste (sometimes a bit too chaste and you sometimes wished the girl had been chaste/chased all over!) but the attraction is in the acting, the glances, and gentle kisses etc.
Anyway, Pact of Silence is one I would recommend. You can choose languages and subtitles.

I have seen the Pope’s Exorcist, Russel Crowe in, was not bad for an Halloween night entertainment. I watched it and found it rather boring. I suspect it was poorly edited, as the characters would suddenly rush around doing things that made no sense plot-wise. Russell Crowe was less-than-convincing as a Spanish priest. I also watched "Exposed: the Ghost Train Fire", a documentary (meticulously researched) about the 1979 fire at Luna Park in Sydney that killed 7. It is very well done, compelling, but difficult to watch at times. I'm in the middle of "Living with Yourself", and I thought it was on the verge of slipping into nothing-new territory until I watched episode 5, where it takes a turn and gets quite interesting.

One movie I absolutely love is “Operation Christmas Drop”. A congresswoman looking for money saving ways by closing different projects, sends her aide to a beachside Air Force base in Guam. It is based on a decades-old holiday tradition organised by the U.S. Air Force. The holiday movie highlights Operation Christmas Drop, the Department of Defence's longest-running humanitarian airlift still in operation. The entire operation takes three weeks each year, and has been happening since 1952.
