(though it feels more like a thousand things, it was a very long day)
1. organized a lot to be able to finish my deadlines for work and still go to my grandma's viewing in a faraway town around midday (mr. r. had to take a. to the doctor for her yearly check-up, and i had to get her then to bring her to daycare, and in the afternoon dad's wife picked up a. from daycare and took her to their place) - only to find, once there, that the viewing could not take place, because they had prepared the wrong body. it will take place on sunday, now.
2. additionally to all the planning i ended up having to pick up my little brother from school, as he slipped on ice on the school ground and dad's wife at the time was in a different part of town, she managed to pick him up from my place just in time for me to leave for the viewing (that ended up not taking place), though on the way then i ended up missing the stop where i had to change trains, so in theory i was late, but then my mom called and said they are all half an hour late anyway, so i was there first after all, except then it didn't take place ... so then i took the whole train journey back and had a bit more time for work than anticipated.
3. brother's gf and my niece left on a trip to the czech republic today, with some friends - a five and a half hour drive according to google maps, probably longer considering there is snow and they are traveling with two toddlers, one of which does not like car rides. brother's gf wanted to leave at ten a.m. but her friend had to work in the morning, and wanted her daughter to nap before they leave, as she never sleeps in the car, so they wanted to leave at three p.m. - except, then the girl did not fall asleep for ages, and after she napped the car was not packed yet, so they ended up leaving at 5 pm. they were supposed to check into the place they rented by 10 pm, after that no one is there anymore. my brother will tell me tomorrow if and how they arrived - he was quite worried about them and would have preferred them to postpone the trip for a day, and i must say i kind of agree.
what are your three things?

Wow, those are 3 pretty intense things! I imagine how concerned you must be about your niece, and then all that travel and planning for the viewing must have felt very frustrating.
My 3: 1. Felt really good this morning which is a nice change.
2. Did some exercise today - not a lot, but the most I've done in nearly 2 months and I think I'll be able to try a run in a few more days.
3. Stopped at MOm and Dad's when work was unexpectedly cancelled, and had a fresh muffin and was able to save my Mom a trip downstairs (important when she's 85) and best of all, Mom thinks she's convincing my Dad to look at moving into a condo/old folks highrise.

My 3 things for today - 1. Wash the dishes 2. Wash the clothes 3. Tidy the house
I envisage the first two will get done, not sure about the third. Lazy has become my middle name. Sigh......

1. Gardened.... with Roundup (Glysophate for those who aren't gardeners). Something I've never done before 2. Did the washing 3. Cleaned the house.
My 'Sadie' is ill and her daughter was going to do the work but ever bothered to turn up for three weeks and Mum hasn't answered my text.
Oh and 4. Sorted out where to put the three new bins and the pile of bags the council have now decreed are compulsory for the recycling and general collection. Stupid council .... it worked before and people had bins that suited their own situation. These are so huge that the elderly find them difficult to manage and those in flats/apartments don't have room to store them.
Lazy Mona should be my new names.

well, brother's gf and the others have arrived well, and had been able to arrange to be let into their holiday apartment at their arrival, even though it was well after ten pm ... so all seems good there (though personally i'd always try to arrive early when traveling with toddlers, but everyone is different there) ...
all the posts about tidying make me feel bad about how my apartment looks. well, but a. and i will go to my mom's tomorrow, while mr. r. is coming home - so i am hoping i will come home to a sparkling clean apartment ...

I figured out the boot. There is a thingy to blow it up inside to be firmer, every time I put the knee on the scooter.... what had happened was that it was fully blown up, and had pushed my heel wll the way forward ..so shin was tight against front of boot. Now every time I sit down, I push the deflate button and all is well. whew

That sounds like one fancy boot you have there Voy. Glad you found how it works, though mind you, a 12 year old would probably have had it sussed in two minutes flat! Funny how the kiddies these days understand all the new-fangled stuff

1. leaving for our camping trip. 2. should finish putting the last few things in the luggage. 3. have too much luggage, but right now it feels quite warm (am inside, sun is shining through the window) so maybe i should just leave most clothes here and pretend it is going to be 30 degrees all day ...

tzarine said: 5. i used droste chocolate
Mrs ( Frau ) Droste was the mother of the wife of friends of my parents. Every year she gave me one of those chocolate oranges that come apart into slices. Other than that I think it was Nestle for cooking use at our house...
