Not the definition of flog I know for that saying. Unless it was deliberate.

Deliberate, plus attendant mild aphasia.

The Director Norman Jewison has died.
All of his films that I have seen I would have to recommend, some are classics, but I never knew his name.
The Cincinnati Kid 1965 In the Heat of the Night 1967 The Thomas Crown Affair 1968 Rollerball 1975

Thanks,
It feels like there never was such a thing as a "Norman Jewison" film. They were much bigger than that. Perhaps that is why I never knew his name.

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. The film is based on the true story of a Malawian boy named William Kamkwamba from the Kasungu region who witnesses a terrible drought in 2001. Driven by desperation William starts searching in books for a solution until he comes across the picture of a windmill.
William Kamkwamba is now 36.
Excellent.
I also recommend First They Killed My Father, based on the book of the same name by Loung Ung. At the dawn of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, Loung Ung, a five-year-old girl, and her family decide to flee and take shelter in camps. Soon, when her father is executed, the horrors begin to intensify. This really does tell the horrors faced by the Cambodian people.

5 street kids in medellin on a jungle journey beautifully shot It certainly is, judging by the trailer. When filming something beautiful the camera lingers, cameras don't linger much anymore, particularly not in trailers. Impressive looking young men particularly the one that looks a bit like a young Ayrton Senna. Q: Are there any fully developed female characters? I didn't spot any candidates. Yes, I do realise that it is about young men. I was critical of "Do the Right Thing" for the same reason, potential strong female roles, squandered, while boys will be boys. BTB Medellin is not far from here, I shall look out for the jungle. Extremadura, supplier of superior homicidal/genocidal barbarians to the world.

I’m watching a Thai police/criminals goodies/baddies series and am on episode 7. Thank goodness there are only 12 episodes, - I couldn’t last for 16 or 20. There is just so much violence you can take. Excellent acting and wham bam kapow kick him here kick em there. At the moment we have both sides of bad guys fighting each other - the good bad guy and the bad bad guy. Naturally I want the good bad guy to win. There are three good bad guys - Pretty boy, Psycho and Muscles. Pretty boy’s the best looking. But gee are there some real nasty little so and sos floating about! Pity we still cannot upload an image.
The series is called “Bad Guys”.

Siddhartha, Steppenwolf or both? A star studded, epic tale, yet it seems to have been lost to us. Why?

tho all my male friends were raving bout the sex scene There is something terrifyingly funny about such friends.
ETA some content : Alice in Wonderland (BBC 1966 B&W) Disappearing down a rabbit hole, a metaphor for the times, I for one had booked my ticket. A cast to die for, which of course, nearly all have.

i was impressed by Nathalie Delon's portrayal of the girlfriend. Somehow, she made the film grounded, the plot tenable.
It was a time of wonderful films. The only drawback was how it turned an audience into film critics, everyone having the obligatory opinion.
In the UK, at least, such films inspired a form of elitism, an in crowd. Fortunately I was far too young and inexperienced to take part. Becoming a prat had to wait.
Le Samouraï is inspirational.
