Good one, Tilted. I can see the dance.
No luck needed as they now seem to be great buddies and go for walks when Maria arrives and he doesn't react to her leaving.
Appreciate all your feedback, my friends.

I hoped you wouldn't ask. All seemed well for a few days or weeks but he's genuinely afraid of her. I don't understand it. It is NOT jealousy. I know she's not fond of dogs but she acts as if he's okay. She baby talks to him for a minute when she arrives and he hides under the desk. I've asked her a couple times to take him for a walk when I haven't been feeling too great but when he sees her pick up the leash, he runs and crawls under the bed covers. He has NEVER done this with anyone, has always been so friendly. I'm convinced that something must have happened on a walk. He just doesn't trust or like her and hides out the whole time she's here. I've caught her in some lies lately. Kind of devastated me as I so strongly felt I could trust her. The day before I left for a week, thinking she was going to be coming in to straighten up before I got back and that she'd water plants, etc. she told me she didn't want to come here while I was gone. WTH? We had discussed it for a couple weeks. I needed some help just before I left and also while I was gone. Nope, said she didn't want to do it. So I had to leave a mess, a fridge full of food that would spoil, and had to hurriedly find someone to care for plants at the very last minute. Twice, she offered to take me to appts then never showed up. She's supposed to arrive for work at 1 but doesn't ever get here until 2:30 or 3. Was her idea to begin at that hour because she has morning jobs. She arrived today and I told her how disappointed I was because she refused to help me and that it had put me in a jam. I said it didn't feel good leaving with no one to watch over my house, get mail out of the box, water gardenette. She said she gets too lonely if I'm not here. Oy! I just don't know what to think but I write this with a heavy heart. (And nerves of jello.)
