You know what's weird? The first time I clicked on nutrax' link, it took me to their shop. Then I tried again and the second time it took me to the General Chat forum.
Just now I clicked on Vinny's link, and it did exactly the same thing - took me to the shop page, then I closed it and tried the link again and it took me to general chat.

I've read it, I loved it. Raved about it at the time and told everyone I knew to read it as well.

They now claim that their data base has my Voy - with a defunct email. and that unless I can think what that might have been, I can never have Voy back. as the name and mail must match. sheeeesh. when the hell WAS registration?? I begin to think it's not worth it!

They're telling people with defunct emails to get in touch and they might be able to sort it out.
What gives me the shivers is that FakeJane said that her plan was to move chat threads to appropriate branches. Only if there are no appropriate branches will they be left in chat.

Knarf, that was only in the likely rare event that a chat thread was worth saving for more than 30 days, since they all self-destruct at that point.

Unfortunately, I'm no more able to delete an account on request from someone without verification details than I am to restore access without sufficient confirmation of previous ownership. We try to take account security as seriously as possible, as I hope you can understand. I still believe that we should be able to come up with the information I need to update the details and restore your 'voy' account to you (seeing as it still exists), so let's try something else... If I tell you the email domain name - @earthlink.net - do you think you'd be able to provide me with the rest of the address? Keeping fingers crossed, and thanks again! Now trying to sign up/sign in... trying to s Xanthei Community, Jul 2, 10:51 AM: Hi again Perry, Thanks for the reply, and the additional information - I've been doing some digging through old accounts, and hopefully we can make some progress now. To start by explaining briefly, the Thorn Tree database contains pretty much all the accounts ever created over the years... which, as you can hopefully see, is why it's not possible to register a new account with the username 'voy' when it already exists from before. Having found your old account, I'm afraid the only remaining issue is the fact that the email address you've given me doesn't match the one we have here. In the interests of trying to help you out, however, I definitely think you'd be able to make an educated guess at the registered address (as it appears to be a relatively conservative name-based one!) so please don't hesitate to send me any ideas or possible options you might have used... and, as long as one of them matches, I'll complete the recovery process for you straight away. Then I was Voyeur. Someone in Oz stole a bunch of our handles at registration - so I changed it to just 'Voy' - back then my email was xxxdddd@tttgg. btw. the same thing happened when I tried to sign up "new" - using Voy - with the kkkllll email -- seeing as it was a New Sign up... why did you reject that one too?? and ps... there will only EVER be ONE Jane as a mod! However, to start with, I'm afraid I'm going to need some more information from you about the account you're trying to recover. Could you please tell me either the username or the email address attached to your old account? [If it helps narrow things down, I can't find any accounts associated with the email address you're contacting us from now... which also means that - if you've been entering ggghhh when requesting a password reset - it's understandable that you would never have received anything in reply, as we don't recognise the address in our database.] Awaiting your response in the hopes of assisting you further. Thanks in advance! Best regards, Xanthei Lonely Planet Community Team

Mine got sorted out with a single email request. I still knew my password to nexus. But no longer had access to the email address associated with it. Since there was nothing to hide, I gave them the password to nexus, they logged in...viola! I am in. And attached a new email address to nexus now.

Smacks of when someone got access to floras account by creating a fake Hotmail account based on her real name and emailing the mods. That was a gangfeck so I can see why they're shy.

Might be easier to pick it up in the UK, Annie. Canada hasn't had much of a global literary tradition since Mrs HS Ball left.

My favorite source for used books is ABE Books It's basically a clearinghouse for used & rare book dealers. Mostly American, but some in other countries, They had 3 copies, from sellers in the US, the UK & Australia.
