grill - when in comes to sandwiches - means to me to butter the bread and put it in a hot frying pan to brown /flip etc "grilled cheese sandwich" I thought so. That's frying though. Grilling it is not. It's a cultural difference though which is fine but I never understood with grilled cheese sandwiches why you call them that when they are fried. As you say, you put them in a frying pan.......... and they cut them in bits that are manageable. so... what's the green stuff they put on the butter? and what's the herb/spice they "sprinkle" on? The herb/spice is just a masala mix made up as they want and varies from stall to stall. Garam masala/chaat masala type of thing. The green stuff is this, sandwich chutney - hebbarskitchen.com/sandwich-chutney-recipe-green-chutney/#sandwich_chutney_video_recipeThis is the video to make it -

aha, Mark, the cultural thing .... what you call grilling we call broiling. And frying tends to mean using a lot of oil/fat - really deep frying...

Curious as to the differences then. If you put the food in a dry frying pan then it is grilling. We'd say you are frying. If you put the food under a heat source it is broiling. We'd say grilling. If the food was in a dry ridged pan on a heat source it is grilling? It would be for us. If you deep fat fry it is frying. We'd specify it is deep fat frying as opposed to just frying. I suppose to avoid confusion the unnecessary term of 'pan' frying became common. If you put say a fish in a shallow frying pan with a little oil, then that's frying. Yes? But you can't grill a fish in a frying pan at all? If you put the food on a grill over a fire are you grilling or barbequing?
For us, if it's in a frying pan, it's frying. But for you it can be grilling if it's a sandwich? If it's in a grill pan it's grilling. If it's under a heat source, it's grilling but for you, broiling. This has always confused me especially when I lived in America and now I look at it on google it always seems the anomaly is under the definitions of grilling it wouldn't mention a frying pan. I suppose it was done in a grill pan but now for convenience, in a frying pan but stayed the same name.

Here, grilling is the same as barbecuing in most meanings. One exception might be when one uses a grilling (ridged type) pan in some cooking procedures. In both cases the fat is meant to drain off one way or another.
Frying would mean just a bit of fat.. otherwise deep frying is usually specified.

What have I learned?
Cold tea is disgusting! Coffee which has gone cold is still drinkable but tea? Euf! I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!

Cold tea is fine - provided there is no milk in it.

grill - when in comes to sandwiches - means to me to butter the bread and put it in a hot frying pan to brown /flip etc "grilled cheese sandwich" Toasted sandwiches as they are called in Australia, are never cooked in a frypan not ever. Two ways. 1. Butter both slices of bread, add cheese, ham and tomato if wished, place under hot grill until nicely golden, turn over, cook other side. Butter top side only, cut and serve. 2. Butter both outsides of bread, add filling. Cook under hot grill. This gives a nice, buttery finish to toasted sandwiches. Some people do call them toasties but we have never used this affectation.

I was beginning to think that clothes in my size were discontinued. I want to buy some jeans and also a leather belt. I can sometimes find jeans capable of defying gravity but all to common they will be a stretchy fabric and a belt is still advisable.
I cannot find a men's belt remotely my size, not one, nada. And lets face it kiddies belts are well, childish.
But looking online I happened across a plain leather belt in size 70 (cm). Great!
Then it occurred to me that I could use size filtering to see if I could find some jeans.
Now size 70 doesn't cut it for jeans so I tried some other size filters.
I eventually found a some pairs that would fit, and this is where it becomes a bit of a giggle, and I discovered I am between a jean size 12y and 14y or hilariously a size 8-10.
Unfortunately I do not want pre-distressed clothing or teen girl hipsters and the remaining pairs were sold out in my size.

Girl Math!
WTF is that all about?
I will assume it is ironic.

Either ironic or an attempt at social humour. Either way, it is joking about how women can (use girl math) to justify to treat themselves.

It would have taken King Solomon just under three years to have sex once with all his women provided he did it once every day!
