For over a month now I have had back problems. Last week when we arrived in England my SiL got straight on to her physiotherapist and got at 8.30 pm appointment for me (nobody says No to my SiL). Her diagnosis was that the pain in the small of my back was caused by excessive bending when I had been cutting down the old raspberry canes rather than stooping down backing boxes for our move. She gave me a regime of exercises. These began to work and I became more supple and the pain ebbed. Until... We stayed last night in our new home. The furniture doesn't arrive until Monday but we borrowed an air mattress and slept on the floor. This morning I was in agony. It took minutes to roll off the air mattress onto the floor, get on my hands and knees, claw my way up the wall into a bent over position. I made it to some steps and sat down. Mrs Faz brought me Ibuprofen and now the pain is just a shadow. Mrs Faz has rustled up a cousin who lives not too far away so we are sleeping there for the next 2 nights. Mrs Faz and her sister and partner decorated the sitting room yesterday. My job is to clear the garden shed so we can store boxes when the removal men come on Monday. And I can do nothing. Moan, moan, interspersed with groan, groan.

Hope your arm gets well soon, voy.
my complaint: I need time on my own, silence and without humans around, but there is no slightest chance of that happening in the next 24hs at least.... (has not happened in the previous 999999999hs either) I am a time bomb. I have warned you all.

Just watched a kid on his bicycle passing our house. He was one of those "Look at me - no hands" show-offs. He saw a mate and turned in his saddle to shout something. Of course his bike swerved out into the road. If there'd been a car coming...

On 22 August I posted some documents on the overnight service, yet on 19 August the receiving post office was on strike, my post office didn't tell me, happily took my money for nothing. Everything is locked up because people are being intimated and a funder is screaming at me because they don't have my report, I missed the deadline rah rah rah, it could jeopardise our future.
Erm, if one can't literally deliver, why does one still sell the service?. I mean they work in communication, surely they circulate information around the country about their other branches.

I will survive, anyway I am at work, guilt would not let me stay in bed. I think 1 quiet day and I'd be ok but .. fat chance. * thinks of quiet afternoons with Pierce, Hugh, Liam, Daniel @ a cozy snowy place.

A new computer printer was being delivered today. Both Mrs Faz and I were going out so I put a notice on the door (right next to the bell) to say that if no one answered then deliver the parcel to Number 32. Came home to find the delivery service had rung the bell, got no answer and gone away. Sheer incompetence. Could the delivery driver not read?

job search sucks, even when it is not me searching a job ... mr. r. got a "no" from a place where they said before he almost certainly has the job, they just need the ok of one person who was on vacation just then. so now he is thinking he will end up taking a call center job again (which will not only mean bad pay, but also quite likely evening and weekend shifts). all the okay-sounding jobs don't even reply to his applications, i suppose they look on the cv, see he is over 50, and put it in the trash right away ...
